Real First Name: Steve Username: Maneki Neko, also ManekiNeko. It's named after a necklace that I wear. I started collecting them in August of 2002, but wanted one since December 2001. What in Tarnation is a Maneki Neko?: I'm surprised you took this long to ask. It's a lucky cat that wishes you good fortune. It stands with one of it's front paws raised (I've heard conflicting reports about both paws up, it's supposed to signify both!), some of them actually have moving paws that beckon you in. They were first seen in Japan around 1870. If you want to see what one looks like, there are several places to find them on the internet. The biggest one I have is 8 inches high and about 5 1/2 inches wide. Age: Yep -- I'm 33. Born 11/06/1972 Home State: California Occupation: I'm galactically unemployable. I'm between jobs at this time. Hobbies: Spending time online, watching TV, listening to music, doing whatever sounds fun at the time, and of course, as most everyone here can attest, I'm quite the party animal. Quote: "You have reached Gamblers Anonymous. To speak with a representative, press 2 now. If you'd like to wager $20 on whether someone will answer the phone within 15 minutes or not, press 3 now."
